The Shift Effect on TV!

Discovering Either/Or Thinking

In this brief interview on NBC4 TV in Washington, I talk about the either/or thinking of 50 of my clients that impeded their influence, and the power of small shifts to transform a person or situation.

The selfless leader cited in the clip created a virtuous cycle by moving slightly from “selfless” to “selfish” without becoming selfish. She made small shifts to her diet and got healthier. She coached leaders to resolve conflicts themselves instead of bogging her down in a triangle where she constantly intervened. And she had a dreaded conversation with her partner about meal times that went swimmingly and got her precious hours of sleep.
